Hi, I am interested in the ongoing Giles Rogers thread, Topic 1 below. I am particularly excited by Sandra's Message 4 on Saturday. mentioning that Giles had a son named John who married someone named Mary. I was informed by some new-found cousins a number of years ago that my ancestor, Joseph Edward Rogers, had a sister named Elizabeth Lamb Rogers. Joseph came to Polk County, Texas from Davidson County, TN, in 1845. He had been preceded there by his sister Elizabeth. My cousins (descendants of Elizabeth) told me that all they knew about the ancestry of the siblings was that their parents lived in Virginia and were named John and Mary. I knew that would be a tough nut to crack, given the number of Johns (Rogers) and Marys (unknown surname) in Virginia (even in the late 18th century). This is the first instance of a John and Mary couple from Virginia in about the right time frame in years og monitoring the Rogers list, so I've got to ask if my names ring any bells. Thank you, Roger Moore Houston In a message dated 11/12/07 02:15:08 Central Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Today's Topics: 1. Re: Giles Rogers, d. 1794 Albemarle (Joan Horsley)
