He was born 31 Jan 1880 in Palestine, Clark Arkansas. Married Respie Garrett who died in 1909. He then married Ella Francis Andrews. James or "Jim" as he was sometimes called, died 17 May 1920 in Slocum, Anderson, Texas. Family legend has it that he is buried in a field somewhere near where he was living. There was a boy buried there all by himself and Jim wanted to be buried by the boy so he wouldn't be lonely. The boy was moved some years later and Jim is supposedly there all by himself now. I would love to know if this is true and where Jim was actually buried. Would love to hear from anyone who has any information about this family.
