Rogers, age 71, of Powder Springs, Ga., passed away Aug. 26, 2010. Jerry graduated from Thiel College in 1960 and then went on to earn his Masters of Science degree from Case Institute of Technology and a Master's of Business Administration from Fairleigh Dicksinson University. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, Beta Beta Beta Society of Plastic Engineers Inc., and the American Chemical Society. Jerry retired in 2003 as the Director of Marketing, Industrial Carbon Blacks Worldwide for Columbian Chemical Company. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Diane Gillespie Rogers, daughter Catherine and Ellis Katz of Marietta, Ga., son and daughter-in-law David and Beth Rogers of Kennesaw, Ga., grandchildren Aaron and Sarah Katz and John and Emily Rogers, sister and brother-in-law Karen and William Stephens of San Antonio, Texas and Erie, Pa., his beloved dog, Lady, Uncle Charles and Aunt Pauline Lobaugh, nieces nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at the Davis-Struempf Chapel on Sunday at 4 p.m. The f! amily will receive friends prior to the service from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the Altus Healthcare & Hospice, 1 Dunwoody Park, Suite 128, Atlanta, GA 30338 or the Humane Society of Cobb Co., 148 Fairground Street, Marietta, GA 30060.
