However, there is not much more to say about this old ledger. It was given to the family of one of my cousins (a generation or two ago) and now none of us can remember where it came from, or who gave it to us, or why we have it. The ledger is in frail condition, it has no title or location we can pin it to. It has names dates and money ammounts, but no reference to places. The names in the ledger include Joseph Rawlings, Cap't Joseph Brown, Deac. James Brown, James Hazzard, Lieut. Nath'l Ordway, John Rogers, Deac Edmond Bayley and Liet Moses Emery. The dates for these names range from 1759 to 1778. I did find a book, during a Google Book search, about the history of Newbury, Mass, which had reference to most of the names listed.
