Newbury, or Newburyport, MA matches the cemetery record I had found for Deacon Edmund Bayley. Did any of your ancestors live in that area? I had family who lived there during that time but none match your list. Local historians might be able to match dates with local events. Did the men have a house or ship constructed? Did they preach at a certain church, teach at a school, invest in property? "Given to" a family member indicates it had been passed down for many generations by descendents of the ledger's owner.
