The original Doswell was born in 1736 and NEVER lived in TN. However, there were other Dauswell Rogers who lived in the Sequatchie Valley which includes counties like Bledsoe, Marion, and Sequatchie who were related to Doswell b. 1736. 1. Rev. Dauswell was a son of William who died in White Co. TN in 1821/1822. This Dauswell lived in the Valley for years before moving to Walker Co. GA. Doswell b. 1736 was his grandfather. 2. There is the Dauswell who was the son of Elisha whom we now believe was the son of Doswell b. 1736. Daus, TN is named for this Dauswell who lived in the Sequatchie Valley. 3. My many great grandfather was Dauswell Charles Rogers. He lived in Marion Co. He was the grandson of William Rogers of White Co. TN and the great-grandson of Doswell. 1736. As for the Adenstones there are just as many of them. Thus far, I have only found one Adenstone in the Sequatchie Valley. He came from Lee Co. VA after 1809 where the Rogers lived and moved to Bledsoe Co. TN. There is very little data on him. He apparently was married to an Elizabeth as their names are found on Rogers deeds in Lee Co. which connect to Doswell b. 1736. But, he is NOT the son of Doswell b. 1736 named Adenstone. That Adenstone went to IN with his son, Adenstone. Many of the early records of Bledsoe Co. were burned and none of this Adenstone's issue are known nor do we know what happened to him. He appears only once in a WPA entry. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
