    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: OSgrad Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.rogers/11054.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am not related to this Rogers/Rodgers line but thought I would see what I could find. The Sevier County Marriage records that are online show these two marriages: Joseph M. Gardner married E. C. Rodgers, 9/17/1874 in Sevier County TN. Hannah Jane Gardner married Richard Reagan, 10/06/1898, Sevier Co. TN. It is so frustrating when initials are used instead of the name. Handwritten initials are often more difficult to read and there can be transcription errors. The timing of the marriage of Joseph M. Gardner and E. C. Rodgers would seem to be a possibility for the parents of Hannah Jane Gardner Reagan. Of the Rodgers families living in 1870 Sevier County, I could find no family with a daughter that met these initials. Neither could I find Hannah Jane Gardner in the 1880 census. Are you aware that Findagrave has the photo of the tombstone for Richard and Hannah Jane Reagan, buried in Blount County TN. This certainly is not an easy puzzle to solve. Good luck and if I come across anything that might be helpful I will post again. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
