Rogers, b. Unknown in Mississippi, d. before 1870. (Possible name is Isaac Ambrose and possibly died during the Civil War.) Married between 1845 and 1847 probably in Arkansas to Martha J. Hirst (or Hurst), b. 1839 Illinois, d. 1897 Rosston, Nevada Co., AR. Her mother was Sintha Hirst. Children of I. Rogers and Martha Hirst: 1. Mary Ann Rogers, b. 1842/1848 Arkansas, d. 1913 AR; married 1878 David H. Babb. 2. James Rogers, b. 1850 Arkansas 3. Elizabeth T. Rogers, b. 1852 Arkansas, d. 1931 Rosston; married 1872 Amziah I. Fincher ** 4. Sintha Rogers, b. 1854 Arkansas 5. Martha Jane Rogers, b. 1856 Arkansas, d. 1938 AR; married 1875 James Warren Fairchild 6. Isaac H. Rogers, b. 1858 Nevada Co., AR, d. 1929 Bowie Co., TX; married 1878 Francis Harriet Fuller *** Above information taken from 1870 Caney Township, Ouachita Co., AR census; 1880 Caney Township, Nevada Co., AR census; Nevada Co., AR marriage and cemetery records; and Bowie Co., TX census, marriage, death and cemetery records. I have two (2) connections to this family. ** Elizabeth Rogers and Amziah Fincher's son, Edwin L. Fincher, married my Great-great-Aunt, Lottie Lee Akin. She was the daughter of Collin M. Akin, Jr and Rachel E. Kirby. *** Isaac H. Rogers and Francis (Fannie) H. Fuller's son, Arthur Pinkley Rogers married my Great-grandmother, Lula V. Post-Phillips. They had one daughter, Lera Grace. A. P. (as he was known) was my Step-great-grandfather. I am looking for information on the Rogers family before 1870 and the name of the father. Isaac H. Rogers' death certificate just has "I.
