I have been searching for the origins of Elias P Rogers b. c 1790 from Long Island. Supposedly had 2 brothers, William & John. One was a merchant Ship owner?, one owned a factory in New York State? All of this is family hearsay. Elias showed up in Scioto Co, Ohio in 1815 & married Susanna Spangle there in 1818. He was supposedly in the War of 1812 and served under Perry in the Battle of Lake Erie. Does any of this sound familiar?
