Placeder is listed as living with their parents: Henry b. 1858 Theodoria/Theodosia b. 1857 Henry and Theodosia only appear together in the census of 1880 and are listed in Privateer, Sumter with baby daughter Placeder. The only other mention of Henry is on George Edward Rogers's death certificate which lists Henry as his father. Does anyone have an information or even in clues to which family this Henry Rogers may have belonged? I've searched the other Sumter 1880 records but have yet to find any other Rogers that might be related to this family, so I"m thinking they moved to Sumter from somewhere, but from where I'm not sure! Silas Rogers, son of William came to Keokuk, IA in the late 1800s and see are still here. The Rogers name as you see on my tree is John William Rogers SR. and Jr. Then my husband is John Welsh( his mothers maiden name ) Can't find out much about Silas but the John's have been in business working for different companies. My husband has an Ann for a sister so the family names seem to be popular. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Is there anyone in the group who is working on the Rodgers of York Co PA? I am working on locating the parents of Robert Rodgers born about 1805 +/- who married Elizabeth and Mary Rodgers born about 1820 +/- who married George Budding. Although there are several Rodgers families ( Eli, Leban, John, Samuel) in the 1790 US Fed Census for York Co., PA, all 4 of these men no longer show by 1800. 1800 York Co PA census shows only Joseph Rodgers. 1810 shows only William Rodgers. 1820 and 1830 finds Sarah Rodger(s),widow, in Hellam Twp, York PA . I tend to think she may be the mother of Mary and Robert, as she had a son born about 1800-1810, 1 daughter 1800-1810 and another about born abt 1815. 1830 we also find a Joseph. 1840 we find James in Chanceford Twp and Robert Rodgers in Wrightsville. The 1840 Wrightsville,York PA Census for Robert Rodgers shows he has living in his home 2 males aged 5-10, himself aged 20-30, and 4 women aged 20-30. He was living only a few houses away from Mary and George Buddings family. 1850 Wrightsville, YorkPA Pennsylvania COUNTY: York DIVISION: Wrightsville Borough REEL NO: M432-840 PAGE NO: 199a Shows Robert Rodgers 41 b PA, Elizabeth 36 b PA, Samuel 19 b PA and John 16 b PA . living with them was Catherine Sloat 44 ( I think a sister ) b PA, Leah Sloat 26 b PA, Daniel Frey 7 b PA According to the Sheriffs Deed book Robert D Rodgers of Wrightsville's home was sold in 1852. There was more than one DOSWELL ROGERS. Several on this list has been researching this name.. Eleanor Edmundson for one. My gg grandmother, Sarah J. (Rogers) Stump Beasley's father was Alexander Stinson Rogers. He is buried near Belle, Maries Co. MO, in the Travis cemetery. Buried near him is "what we believe to be" a brother, Doswell Rogers. We can trace the family back to Madison Co. TN where Alexander and wife, Delinda Wallace married.. and farther back to east TN. There may be someone on this list with more information. Ellie S.
