Author: twrogers5954 Surnames: Rogers, Rodgers Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.rogers/10949/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello Many of you know me more under the travelback4u aol email address, but I am Thomas William Rogers. Recently, I submitted my own DNA Results to rogersdna.com web site and it now is available for you to do comparisons on the relationship chart there. My Ancestry comes down thru Capt. John Rogers of Maryland born circa 1680 and died 1717, and his wife Isabell Orrell. He also married Ann Courts and Elizabeth Mason, but I descend thru his son Richard Rogers who married Mary Muschett, who is son of Isabell Orrell. Capt. John Rogers was rumored to be a Scotish Sea Captain, and, my dna appears to date back to Scotland. I highly suggest, if you haven't already, please consider submiting your dna to the rogersdna.com web project. I was amazed at the accuracy of my genealogy research is comparison to the dna results of others including one 1,000 point perfect match. The dna project is also showing that both the Rogers and Rodgers spellings are found within the Rogers DNA Family Lines so you should not ever limit your research to only the Rogers or Rodgers Spelling. Many of us, especially me, suspected this fact, but the DNA Results are now proving it as fact. I intend to now upgrade to even a more sophisticated dna test as soon as funds come available and will be also submitted that to the project. Author: SandraStephens50 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.rogers/10945.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I can't explain where Edward's wife Sarah and daughter Margaret were in 1860 unless they were visiting in a relative's household, perhaps her parents. Do you know her maiden name? However, in the 1910 DuPage Co., IL census, they state they have been married for 56 years, which may be a little off. I found Margaret Beardsley, a widow, in 1910 DuPage Co. census, age 52, parents born Vermont. She has children Jerome, 31, Nellie, 21, Albert 19, Clinton 17, and Pearl 15. 1. [ROGERS] Edward P. Rogers (1836-1921) mystery
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: mirandacaliente Surnames: Rogers Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.rogers/10945/mb.ashx Message Board Post: In looking at the 1870 census for Edward P. Rogers, it shows him with his wife, Sarah, and their children, Margaret (age 12), Eva (10), Davis (7), Artie (5), and Nettie (4/12). But, the 1860 census shows Edward living with his father, Samuel. Where are Sarah and his oldest child, Margaret? Granted, I'm assuming that Margaret is Edward's child, so he and Sarah would have to be married around 1858. Can anyone shed any light on this and let me know where Sarah and Margaret are in 1860? Also, Margaret doesn't appear in the 1880 census with her family. I'm assuming that by that time, she would be married, but I've been unable to find any information in the Illinois marriage database. Thanks for any help! Author: mirandacaliente Surnames: Rogers, Perry Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.rogers/10944/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Forgive me for posting the same post in multiple forums; just trying to cast a wider net! :) I'm looking for more information, particularly about the parents of Samuel Rogers (1800-1870) and Aurillia Perry (~1804-1897). I have all the census information, so I know where all they lived and who with, but if there are any other details, I would love to have them. I am also looking for information about John D. Perry. Is this Aurillia's brother? I have seen a few posts on the forums saying that it is highly probable, but can anyone give any definite conclusion? This information is rather important to me because if he is her brother, then there is a 3rd cousin marriage later down the line! Thanks for any help!
