Hi, the best I can do to help is this information I got on Ancestry.com in the 1910 Dicksons, Pierce County, Georgia census, there was: Family #1-4 John C. Rogers, age 46, married 18 yrs, born in South Carolina Mary L. age 38 born in Georgis, has had 6 children, 5 living Bettie L. age 17 Jesse W. age 14 George W. age 10 Lucy H. age 3 Wesley R. age 3 baby girl Sarah Head, mother in law, widow age 79 I hope this helps you to get started on your search. I also have Rodgers and it is very hard, with or without the "d" I also found your grandpa's WWI draft card, it lists his father as J. C. Rogers, George's birthdate as Feb. 6, 1900 and they lived at the time in 1917 in Pierce Co., Ga. He had grey eyes and dark hair, of med. build and weight. good luck, Janet Koch

A 37 marker or better DNA would be best. A 25 marker test at least. The Orange Co NC Rogers are a G Haplogroup. This G group of Rogers is rather small. If it turns out your Rogers are not G, you will still see where your line fits in with the other tested Rogers lines. There is a cost to take the test. Can tell you more about that and how to easily submit DNA. Sharon Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
