If I were you I would maybe go to Rootsweb and check world connect out. If you don't have date's of Birth or Death Dates try and guess. When you find a Hugh ROGERS that may fit you can e-mail the person working on that line. Good Hunting Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. His daugther Matilda born abt 1795 may not be the daughter of Eunice though as they married in 1795 and I was provided a marriage record for William to a "Culver" in 1789. I was thinking, but have no way to confirm without going to Southold at this point, that William was the son of John Rogers and second with Abigael Salmon. They married in 1760 but again, I have no proof. Daugther Matilda married Benjamin Franklin Horton (b:1794) of Sterling on 10/26/1816 and they moved to the Hudson Valley (Blooming Grove) around 1820. They were my 5th greats. I have quite a bit of the Rogers history that I added to my tree today. I have other doucments I haven't posted yet but will. I currently put John and Abigael in the tree to see what popped up but without confirmation I will end up deleting it. If I come across something I'll post it but feel free to drop me a note if you do check out what I have and have any questions. Thanks, Joe.. I am also unaware of Charles' heritage, although I was told that there was Scot ancestry in the family. Until now, I have been unable to find out much at all about Charles and his heritage. Ihave copies of two very good books which contain lots of good info on the Southold,Suffolk County,Long Island area. They are the " Salmon Records" which cover the 1696-1811 time and the " Records of the First Church of Southold" which begins in 1747. I can check them for any ROGERS data if you can send me whatever you may have. Thanks, Clyde

My connection to the Rogers family is through my maternal grandmother. Her paternal grandmother was Sophia Sarah Rogers Turner, daughter of John Rogers and Barbara Breazeale. My grandmother's father was Middleton Woodward Turner and since Sophia's brother was named Middleton Drury Rogers, I know the Middleton name has to be connected to the Rogers somehow. And I wonder if John Rogers' mother was a Middleton. Thanks so much for the information. Charlene Cooper Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. He specified in his will that a certain piece of land would only be inherited by descendants carrying the name of Adueston/Adenstone/(many versions of the name). His only child, Agnes, was married to John Rogers. There are a large number of Adenstone Rogers across the generations. Some families gave more than one child the name. Doswell Rogers comes from this line. Have you been in touch with Eleanor Edmondson? She is the most knowledgable about this Rogers family and Doswell in particular. Author: PatriciaWorshamnow Surnames: Rogers Ellis Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.rogers/11009.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I don't know if my Elllis line (from Greene/Lincoln Co TN) connects to this group of Ellis. James Ellis died about 1817 in Lincoln Co TN. My Rogers line is Adenstone Rogers who was born in AR about 1825. I don't know at this point if Alexander Rogers is part of this family. I am trying to sort out the Rogers families in this part of AR. A long-time researcher of the extended Adenstone Rogers family has found no evidence that this group ever owned slaves. So perhaps the fact that Alexander did not keep the slave in his household is consistent with his being part of this family. I try to post documents concerning slavery, adoption, etc. when I find them with the hope of assisting researchers who have very few old records to work with. I don't know if Alexander is part of this family. He was born in MO, so it is a possibility. Other names in this extended family include Jones Rogers and Doswell Rogers. My Adenstone Rogers was born about 1825 in AR; he married Frances Jane Slinkard, whose family had also moved from Cape Girardeau MO about the same time. His father may be the Adenstone Rogers who married Mary Carden in Pulaski Co AR 1824; my Adenstone was living with a Carden family in 1850. I have an Ellis line from Greene Co TN (Huldah Ellis m. John Neece). Huldah was the daughter of James Ellis who died in Lincoln Co TN about 1817. I don't know if my Ellis lines connect to those in Conway Co.
