    3. There are two ROGERS lineages that you will want to check out. One is Shadrach Rogers who married Hopey Bethea. The other one is Lot (Lott) Rogers who married Anne Bethea. I am a descendant of Lot.   It appears that The ROGERS and BETHEAS intermarried quite a bit.   William Rogers --- On Sat, 3/19/11, gc-gateway@rootsweb.com <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> wrote: From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> Subject: [ROGERS] Rogers Family from Marion County, South Carolina To: ROGERS-L@rootsweb.com Date: Saturday, March 19, 2011, 4:18 PM This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: pqrstny Surnames: Rogers Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.rogers/252.320.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: His wife, Sarah Phipps Rogers (and presumably Noah is with her), is buried in Allentown Cemetery. Follow Union-Center Maine Highway (Route 26), north between the town of Maine and Glen Aubrey. Where Flint Road intersects Route 26 on the right, look to your left and there's Allentown Cemetery. Don't blink or you'll miss it. As you walk through the main gate, there's Sarah's gravestone, right in front of you, you can't miss it. Noah's name isn't listed, but he's most likely there with her. I don't know when Noah died, but you may be able to find it at the Broome County Public Library, Court Street, Binghamton, 2nd floor. That's where the genealogy section is. I had to research Noah and Sarah for a while (turned out it wasn't the correct Rogers line). As I recall, there was a Baptist church in Lisle where Sarah belonged. The BC Library has a CD there of the pertinent years from the Lisle Baptist Church covering Sarah---I know there is because I made it myself and donated it. They have paper records of the Lisle Baptist Church for that time period, but they've become jumbled and difficult to read. There's a card catalog there on the wall, you'll find some references to Noah and Sarah, particularly the Phipps family. The Phipps (and Noah Rogers and Sarah Phipps Rogers) moved east to what is now Maine and Union Center. I was never able to substantiate the names of their children through church records, though. There have been some references to them and their children on this board. There's also an online book here at Ancestry in the Card Catalog section on the history of Broome County which mentions the Phipps and some of Noa! h's brothers. Hope this helps. She was born in or around Accomack (or Accawmack) Virginia circa 1770. My records show that both Thomas and his wife lived very long lives; each passed away in 1859, he in Virginia she in Georgia? I have read somewhere that Nancy was possibly a Native American and her last name was Cutlor or Cutler. Anyway, I wondered if anyone has any information regarding this person. Author: Cheryllenz13 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.rogers/4730.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Do you know of John Oliver Rogers? It is said he is the father of James Alfred Rogers. James is born in 1873 in Sharp county, Arkansas. James is known to have been in Red River Texas, McAlester, Oklahoma, and Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada. I would like to confirm the parentage of James Alfred Rogers. One time it is mentioned that James Alfred Rogers mother was Clara Wells. James married Australia Berryman. Elmena Berryman Bakers Bible showed these other family names: Irby, Depear, Mooney, Thompson. James is found in the 1900 census indian territory. One of his sons was my grandfather: Ollie Robert Rogers. Interesting combination of names. My uncle was Robert Ollie Rogers. You showed the Ollie and the Robert... so I'm wondering if these are family names. Thank you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
