Has anyone heard of the Canadian War? When and where did it take place? Did Americans participate in this war? Melissa
I would be interested in learning more -- my grandfather's youngest brother was Silas Rogers who had a son named Glen(n). They lived in Oklahoma, Texas and California. I don't know enough about them (they have proven to be quite elusive) to know if your Glenn is a match. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. Did you know that Drury ROGERS, a neighbor of Colonel Greenberry LEE in Richmond Co., GA, was made administrator/trustee of the Colonel's children after the Colonel died in 1786. Colonel Greenberry LEE was married to Elizabeth FEW who survived him and was twice married thereafter. The children of Greenberry and Elizabeth were William, John and Mary. I would say that it is likely that Drury ROGERS had a son or grandson named Eli Greenberry ROGERS. Can you give me a time and/or location of your ROGERS family? Best regards, Hugh
Jim, what was the location of your Rogers family? It seems they always used the same names over and over. The only child we have listed for Eli Greenberry Rogers & Wealtha (Downing) Rogers is Henry H. Rogers who was born circa 1903. We have no other info. I can tell you that Eli G. Rogers is buried in the New Zion Baptish Church cemetery, located west of Ona, FL (Hardee). We don't have info regarding the whereabouts of Wealtha's burial place. Would like to have that info if you know... We have her as being born May 22, 1876 in Manatee County and died August 9, 1909. I may have the photos that you mentioned of Eli and family in front of the old homeplace near the Manatee River and one of Sarah Jane. We also have a photo of Sarah Jane's mother Mary "Polly" Newman Keen who is buried in Sardis Cemetery, located on the Rusty Pot Ranch near Myakka City, FL (Desoto). Would like to hear back from you, Thanks, Tommy

Thanks for the information on Robert and Mary. This is a new direction to go. It was Illinois Territory before it became Kentucky. I found Lissie Rogers White buried in Dickens Cemetery 1936. I hope to find more about her family. It is possible to put in the name of the child, where the child was born and an approximate age. That can often be helpful in finding the name of parents. I put in the name Lucy Rogers, born United States, born Ohio, birth date 1878, plus or minus 2 years. Only one Lucy Rogers was shown. Did she use the name Lucy in all 3 of the census records you have? If so, this might be a very good possibility. 1880 Ohio, Warren County, Waynesville. Head of the Household, William Rogers, age 62, b. OH; both parents b. NJ Sarah E. Rogers, wife, age 43, b. OH; both parents b. TN William Rogers, son, age 22, b. OH; both parents b. OH Lucy Rogers, daughter, age 3, b. OH, both parents b. OH I tried the same procedure for Don (and Donald) Roseberry but did not find him. Could he have been born after the 1880 census? The variation in the spelling of his name would not have mattered because the search takes into account spellings with the same sound.

Not to confuse anyone--I am using my mother-in-law's sign in name. I am looking for information on my mother's side of the family. Her maiden name is Frances Rogers. Her sisters are Sandra and Kathleen. Their father's name was Frank (or Francis) Rogers (1920-1997). Frank's parents were Frank (or Francis--lived in Ohio) and Camillia (or Kamila; nee Smitka or Smitko). Some of their children include Joe, John, Helen, Josephine, Irene, Lee, Ray, Syl, and Leonard. Frances, Sandra, and Kathleen's mother was Josephine Rogers (nee Kudla; 1928-1973). Her parents were Peter and Anna Kudla. Anna came from the Ukraine as a young girl. Some of their children include Basil, Joseph, and Margaret. Joseph had a son named Peter and Margaret had Madeline and Robert. At one point, the name may have been Rogozinski. Also, it seems that many relatives are from upstate New York. If anyone can share any information with me, I would be very appreciative. My e-mail is chacha358@aol.com. I look forward to learning more about my family ties and heritage.
