    3. We have information on a David Rogers and Absolom Rogers in Lincoln Co. TN and Madison Co. AL in the 1820's. They probably have Virginia roots. Do you have other information on your Absolom and David? Jim O. Around 1846 they moved to Babcocks Grove, Du Page County, IL, and by 1850 they were living in Bloomingdale, Du Page, ILL. Mary died around 1867 in Bloomingdale. 1. [ROGERS] Rogers, Granville Lee
    2. EDITH REYNOLDS
    3. Because of unusual name Granville, think their might be a family connection...to the following in my husband's line....Granville was born to Babe B. (Olin Lewis) Rogers(b. Sept 18, 1885 d. Nov. 26, 1958 buried Grahan, Young Co., Texas) and wife Margurett. In addition to the son Granville they had a Hazel b. Dec. 12, 1916; Melvin and Faye. Granville's grandparents were Drureo "Drew" Martin Rogers b. July 6, 1852, Joplin, Jasper Co., Mo. (He is brother ot John Franklin Rogers(b. MO) from whom my husband is descended). Drew died March 21, 1921, OK. Drew married Mary Caroline "Molly" Talley. Drew's father was William Jackson Rogers b. May 1, 1822, MO and died May 14, 1873, Grayson Co., Texas and married Mary Ann McClain. I would appreciate any help on this line. William Jackson Rogers and Mary Ann McClain are basically as far back as we have found.

    1. [ROGERS] Rogers: late 1700s Virginia (Nathaniel, David, Isham, Absolam)
    2. I have hit a dead end with the following gentlemen. Each was apparently born in Cumberland County, Virginia. But beyond records I can find in 1780s, they all seem to disappear outside the immediate Cumberland County area. I am hoping someone there has seen a "stray" in research that might give me a clue. The four are... 1) Nathaniel Rogers; born about 1763 2) David Rogers; born about 1782 3) Absalom (or Absolam) Rogers; born about 1775-1780 4) Isham Rogers; born about 1780-1785 In particular if you've seen these gentlemen, they may well show up as "mulatto" or "free persons of color" as I suspect they are partially Native American. Any pointers to records from early 1800s in other parts of the US you've seen with these names would be appreciated. At least three of them do have unusual first names. Gary

    1. [ROGERS] ROGERS Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Bessie F. ROGERS taken at the Hearn & Davis Studio in Boston, Massachusetts. The photograph is dated "Class of 1892 W.H.S." so I believe this is likely a high school photograph. This appears to be a photograph from Waltham High School in Waltham, MA. Based on limited research, I believe this may be a photograph of Bessie F. ROGERS b. 5 May 1873 at Sudbury, MA to parents Atherton Wales ROGERS and Alcesta Elizabeth THOMPSON. The couple was living in Sudbury, MA during the 1880 census along with two daughters, Bessie F. age 7 and Isadore C. ROGERS age 2. I'm hoping to locate someone from Bessie's family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
