    3. Dear Leo, We will keep an eye out for your family. Your mother was a Rogers from Missouri? William and James were VERY common names in the Rogers line. There were only 5 William Rogers and 7 James Rogers that we have come across to this point. Most, if not all, have come from the Kentucky/Tennessee/North and South Carolina area to Missouri. This has made the search very rough. We will see if we can find anything and let you know. Thank you for writing back. 3. Dear Donna, At this point, we can see no connection with the information you have. We more then likely connect back in Tennessee. My line came through Henry Harper Rogers, to James Braden Rogers (migrated to Missouri), William H. Rogers, Joseph Whit Rogers, my mother, then myself. We will keep your e-mail handy in case we run into anything that would assist you. Thanks for replying. 3. Our Rogers came to Missouri --Greene Co--about 1835. My gr gr grandfather was Joseph Rogers who came here from Bedford Co. Tenn. He was in Bedford Co in thaae 1830 census living next to his brother-in-law Hosea Mullings. In the 1820 census our Joseph was in Lincoln Co. Tenn living close to Isaac, Absalom and Jones Rogers. Our Joseph was born in 1788 in So. Car. Absalom and Jones were both born in So. Car and we believe that the Isaac was also from So. Car. For we find an Isaac Rogers in Laurens Co. So. Car whose dates fits the one in Lincoln Co. And also live close by are others from So. Carolina namely the Pugh, Halls, Mullings, and others. However we do not have documented proof they were from Laurens Co. So. Car. Our Joseph's 1812 War of 1812 pension application states he was born in So. Carolina. The location of our Rogers in Greene Co. is very close to the Webster Co. line. There is also other Rogers in Webster Co for whom the town of Rogersville is named. They come to Missouri from Marion Co., Tenn. We have not yet found a direct connection with the two Rogers families. Also there was another Rogers that came in the mid 1830s and this was a James Rogers who came from Rhea Co., Tenn. He came with his in-laws the Henry Owens family. The Henry Owens family settled in the Southwest part of the Co. but James settle in the Northeast part of the co that later became Webster Co when it was fromed from Greene Co in 1855. Would be interested to hear from you and know your connection to the Rogers in Greene and Webster Co., Missouri. 3. Dear Phoebe, Thank you for your reply. My Rogers line came from Wilson County, Tennessee to Missouri about 1835-1840 also. The first to come to Missouri was James Braden Rogers who went to the Webster/Greene County area. One of his children, William H. Rogers, is my Great Grandfather. One of William's sons, Joseph Whit, is my granfather. This line descended from the Henry Harper Rogers line of Chatham North Carolina. At this point, I do not see a connection. However, since both our lines come from the same general area and migrated to the same area, I am sure there is a connection somewhere back in either North Carolina or Tennessee. I also noticed that you have sbcglobal also, we must be from about the same area. I am in SW Michigan. Thanks again for replying and I will keep your family and e-mail address handy in case we come across anything that will help you. Talk to you later. The were married abt 1957, and lived on her family farm in West Chester, PA. Upon her death, my mother gathered photos and papers that she thought might help me in my research. Unfortunately for me, these papers and photos seem to have belonged to my Grandmom Edna Rogers. To my knowledge Grandmom Edna only had one sibling, a brother named Jesse, who preceded her in death. She had no children of her own. The only identified photos are those of "Uncle Clem Leopold" and "Aunt Clara Leopold", and one of "Uncle Matt"; there are 21 photos in all. Most taken in West Chester, Pa. Others in Reading, Phoenixville. The papers are correspondence pertaining to the purchase of a farm all in the original envelopes, dating between 1916 and 1927; addressed to Amos D Rogers. I assume this was Grandmom Edna's father. I would very much like to return these materials to the rightful family.
