    1. [ROGERS] Eld. Peter Rogers, b. 1755, New London, CT, d. 1849, Waterloo, Monroe Co., IL
    2. Stephen von Hitritz
    3. Greetings. This is a preliminary announcement of a reunion of all descendants of Elder Peter Rogers. Rogers was born in 1755, New London. After distinquished Rev War service, he became a Baptist minister preaching all over New England until he migrated to Waterloo, Monroe Co., Illinois in the 1820s to be with his son Emery Peter Rogers who had become the town's primary merchant. He remained a Baptist minister in Waterloo, until his death in 1849. Peter was married 3 times, having 13 children with his first two wives. Remarkably, 11 of these lived to adulthood, so there are lots of descendants out there from Massachusetts to Illinois to Colorado, etc. You can visit my web site: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/v/o/n/Stephen-R-Von-hitritz-VA/GENE967-0001.html to read all about him and his family. To honor Peter Rogers and his descendants, Mr. Bob Burke (desc of Emory Peter Rogers, his son) and myself (desc of Dr. John Rogers, his son) are making preliminary plans to hold a family reunion in Waterloo, Monroe Co., Illinois over Labor Day weekend, 2004. If you are a desc, or think you are check out the web site above. We would like to contact as many family members as possible. Activities in Waterloo and the surrounding area, which is near St. Louis, include visiting the Masonic Lodge in Waterloo. The Lodge has possession of the sword that Eld Peter Rogers took into battle during the Rev. War. We plan to visit Peterstown house the city museum where Emory Peter Rogers lived and worked. A trip to the city cemetery (uncataloged) is planned. We will be presenting a short biography of Eld Peter Rogers. So, check out the web site, and please contact me with questions or comments. Steve

Once family- always family as far as I'm concerned. I also am very happily married and so glad to hear that you are, too. I will always love my Uncle Ben, but I know he could be hard to deal with sometimes. I haven't seen him in quite a while. I heard that he wasn't doing well. I may be wrong, I haven't talked to anyone in Texas for a long time. My wife and I have been married since May 29th, 1993. once I let God pick my wife for me, I found out what a good marriage was like. I'm l;oving every minute of it. It has been a long time. You must forgive me, but I don't remember a whole lot about your side of our family. I'm getting bits and pieces, but that was the 80's. please fill me in. As for Jerry, he was living with Bobby, jr (Rogers) in Longview, Tx. Off of loop 281, I think. Close To the truck stop. Nick bought a place in Mississippi. Danny was living with David either in St Louis or back in Texas. I'm not sure. I'm really sorry to have to tell you, but we lost mom in 1994, Sept., I think. I still miss her and the time we spent talking. So much to tell in so short a time. I better go for now. We'll talk again soon, I hope. Love ya, Bo.

Surnames: Rogers Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/EkDBAIB/5865 Message Board Post: I'm looking for cousins related through my great grandparents (times 3) John and Sarah Rogers. According to the 1880 census information I've found they were living in Washington County, Minnesota during that time. John was born in England in 1845 and Sarah was born in Minnesota in 1854. I'm not sure what Sarah's maiden name was. Her father was born in Canada and her mother in Ohio. That's all I know at this point. If anyone has additional information that would be great. John and Sarah had the following children... Herbert b: 1873 in Minnesota Olive b: 1874 in Minnesota Charles b: 1875 in Minnesota (my great great grandfather) Walter b: 1878 in Minnesota Jackson b: 1879 in Minnesota John is also enumerated in the 1900, 1910 and 1920 census's all in Washington County, Minnesota. He lists himself as being married in the 1900 census but his wife Sarah is not listed in the household. She must have died sometime between 1900 and 1910 as in the 1910 census he lists himself as a widow. John died sometime between 1920 and 1930 as in the 1930 census he is nowhere to be found. Any additional information in all these area's would be great. Thanks!

It includes the history of the Tewksbury generations that lived in Boston, Newbury and Amesbury Mass. as well as Weare and Sandwich, NH. It chronicles the life of immigrant Henry Tewksbury born 1626 and that of his descendants, John 1674, John Jr. 1714, Timothy 1743 and Daniel born 1782. It also includes the Genealogy of the maternal lines of: Andrews, Brown, Copp, Colby, Eldridge, Fletcher, Frame, Hoyt, Jackson, Jewell Lancaster, Lord, Lumpkin, Pinder, Rogers, Rowell and Stowers etc... The second section of the book gives the genealogy and some history of the descendants of Daniel Tewksbury and Polly Brown, who together as a large family, removed to Summit Co., OH and then on to Indiana and Michigan.
