I've posted before but will try again...! My 4G-Grandfather was Ansel Rogers (married to Frances Gibson), born about 1766 in Cumberland County, VA. By 1850, he had settled in Sullivan County, TN (after stops in Campbell, Henry and Washington Counties of VA). The Guion Miller application of his grandson, James Ansel Rogers of Stone Co, MO documented the elder Ansel's children. I would love to talk to anyone researching these families. (Although there is likely some native american blood in the family, grandson James' Cherokee application via the Guion Miller roll was not accepted.) ALL of Ansel's children were born between 1810 and 1830. 1) Prudence Rogers (1810-1868), lived/died near Sullivan County, TN/Washington Co, VA. 2) James Rogers (1825 - ca. 1870) and Wife Rebecca Shaver, lived/died near Sullivan Co,TN. 3) Nathaniel (or "N B") Rogers (b. 1817) and Wife Susan lived in Louisville, KY. 4) Spicey Rogers (b. ca 1822) and husband Squire Shaver; lived in Sullivan Co, TN and "Big Sandy" Ohio or Kentucky. 5) George W. Rogers (b. ca 1826) and Wife Margaret Ann Beattie lived in Lawrence Co, OH. 6) Eliza Rogers (b. ca 1820) and husband Martin Shaver lived in Washington Co, VA (and Sullivan, TN) 7) Julia Rogers (nothing more known) 8) Nancy Rogers -- supposedly lived near Lee Co, VA or Hancock Co, TN. 9) Solomon Rogers -- nothing more known 10) Ruth Rogers (b. ca 1820) -- lived around Sullivan Co, TN 11) Lettie Rogers (b ca 1828) -- Abingon, Washington County, VA Would like to talk or communicate with anyone searching this family. I have a fair amount of info on the clan! Gary

Rogers father was James Monroe born 1825 in Alabama and his father was Benjamin Rogers born 1781 in Georgia. But do you think any of these could have been cousins since James Albert was from the hill country in Texas? Thanks, Patricia Actually James was not from the hill country but his son Thomas Albert was and raised his family in Texas.
My g. grandparents were Richard Rogers and Mary Mitchell, married 28 Oct. 1854. He was listed as 28 years of age. Most of their children went to the Negaunee area of northern Michigan. At the time of the marriage John was living at Bridge. I believe Richard's parents were John and Catharine Rogers, as the 1841 and 1851 both show a Richard Rogers born approx. 1830. I would like to know Catharine's maiden name. Their children were: Ann Richard John David William Mary Catherine All born between 1826 and 1831 at Illogan. John and Catharine also show on the 1861 and 1871 census. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who might have links to these people. Ernie Farmington Hills, Michigan
