Pat, Would you know anything about a Daniel Rogers who lived in Christian Co.? He would have been there around 1810. He had a couple sons and daughters. One son's name was Wiley Rogers. I'm trying to find out who the other son and daughters were along with Daniel's wife's name. Daniel was supposed to have been a Revolutionary War veteran. He was born in Granville Co., NC, moved to Chester Co., SC, then to Christian Co., KY, then to Henry Co., TN and died in his son Wiley's household about 1849 in Tippah Co., MS. I'm trying to find out if the other son's name was Joel. Any help on this would be wonderful. Thank You! I have a possible Rogers link in Madison Co., Kentucky as well. The mother of Sarah Payton, who married George Stever in 1815 in Madison Co., and eventually moved to Missouri, is Milly Rogers. We have no written documentation on Milly who is supposedly part Cherokee. A Thomas Burgin signed the marriage documents for Sarah. Interestingly enough, there is a marriage between a Thomas Burgin and a Malinda or Matilda Payton that occurred in 1810 in Madison Co., Kentucky. Not sure what the link is between this Thomas Burgin and the one who signed for Sarah's marriage to George, if any. Could be the same person, but I don't know for certain. Fawn Kennedy Dessy
Once again, hat in hand, I come to you requesting information on ANTHONY ROGERS prior to 1761. It was about that year that he married Zilpha Holcomb. He had four sons, who lived, JAMES, ANTHONY, JOHN and EDWARD. JAMES is said to have stayed in Simsbury when ANTHONY (Zilpha's widower husband) left for New Brunswick with sons, ANTHONY, JOHN and EDWARD. ANTHONY of Simsbury, prior to 1761, is some where in the "family tree" but no amount of shaking seems to bring this branch down! Any assistance, suggestions, advice, guidance or sympathy, would be appreciated. Chip Rogers (Charles Anthony Rogers, Jr.) aka: Charles the Frustrated
