    1. Thomas and Richard Rogers
    2. Hello List, I am looking for any information on my great-grandfather, Thomas Sylvester Rogers. He was supposed born in Oneida Co. Nov. 27, 1856. His parents were Richard Rogers and Lucretia Bundy. By 1860 they were in Onondaga Co. Have not been able to find a marriage for Richard and Lucretia, or any sign they were actually there in Oneida. Looking for proof. Family rumor says Richard was with the Spalding and Rogers Circus. He is thought to have had an accident in an equestrian stunt and died. Charles Rogers was the co-owner of the circus, but can find no link to him either. Any help appreciated. Cheryl in Michigan

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/EkDBAIB/4144.1.2 Message Board Post: My husband is also descended from John Page Rogers- my late father in law remembered him well; although the databases I've seen list his death as 1913, my fil remembered him into his teens, and that wouldn't have been possible since he was born in 1912., My husband's grandfather is also not listed as one of the children of John Page and Mary Eglantine Hadessah McCloud, but he was indeed one of the youngest, Arthur Jay. In fact my father in law was named Robert Arthur- for his uncle Robert and his own father Arthur. According to the stories told to us, John Page was either first or second generation American (Irish) and he lost two or three fingers in the battle of Pea Ridge in the Civil War. Best, Janie

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EkDBAIB/6031.1 Message Board Post: Can your friend identify any of the brothers and sisters of John Henry Rogers? In the 1880 census search located at www.familysearch.org I put in the name John Rogers, b. AR, date of birth 1871, plus or minus 2 years. (Census records are not known for their accuracy). This certainly seems as though it could be his family. If it is, there is a lot of information about the ancestry of this family that can be found at www.rootsweb.com through their Search Family Trees link, and also there is information at www.familysearch.org in their International Genealogical Index search link. According to the USGS map server, Gum Springs is located in Clark County, Caddo Township. Here are the census findings. Arkansas, Clark County, Caddo Township. Titus Rogers, age 37, b. AR, parents b. AL Cecey Rogers, wife, age 38, b. GA, parents b SC All the children were born in AR MayBelle, daughter, age 13 Willie W., son, age 11 John H., son, age 10 Cecey C., daughter, age 9 Georgias F., daughter, age 6 Edward J., son, age 4. Titus Rogers was a Confederate veteran. Much of his history can be found at the above mentioned Search Family Trees site, located at www.rootsweb.com and sources of information are included.

Surnames: Rogers Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/EkDBAIB/6028 Message Board Post: Seeking info on Rogers/Rodgers families in NC in the 1700's. The last ancestor I have is Elisha Rogers b. 1801 in GA. His father was born in NC & mother in GA. With this info, I assume this Unknown Rogers left his family in NC & moved to GA or possibly the whole family moved. The bad thing is I have no idea where in GA Elisha was born or who his parents could have been. Elisha named his children: 1. Amanda Bell Rogers 2. Oceola Lee Rogers 3. Thomas John Rogers 4. Daniel Webster Rogers 5. Desdemona Inez Rogers 6. Willis B. Rogers I'm hoping maybe Thomas John or John Thomas or Daniel may provide a name link somehow. Any leads or info greatly appreciated!
