I'm looking for info on an Allie L. Rogers who married a Jeffries in about 1870 in Henry Co. TN. Think she's the daughter of my long-sought great-great-grandfather, William Rogers, son of Clayton and Betilda Sadler Rogers of Chester Co., SC. Appreciate any help. Jay Rogers in San Antonio TX
You all are much too quiet! <VBG> I've narrowed down the possible father to my John Rodgers - a Matthew & a James. Hoping someone has some info on one of these guys... From what I can put together, a James Rodgers moved to what was then, Fermanagh, Mifflin Co, PA before 1790. James was born before 1755 & died bet 1800-1810. His possible wife was Margaret. I believe he had two sons, James & Matthew both born bet 1755-1765. Matthew's family stayed in the Fermanagh area & James moved to Tuscarora area. In 1831 this part of Mifflin Co became Juniata Co & in 1821, the town of Fermanagh split into two towns, Fermanagh & Walker. After 1821, most of Matthew's family is found in Walker, Juniata Co, PA. Matthew bought a farm there in 1790. He was a Capt in the War of 1812 from Mifflin Co. Matthew had 4 sons & James had 3. Is anyone else researching this family or have any info?
