    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: ThomasHuffman_1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.rogers/4656.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, Scott! I too am descended from the line of Jeremiah Roger(s). You are correct, the family arrived in Charles Towne SC in April of 1764. The town of New Bordeaux no longer exists and a modern housing development and lake cover much of the original property. The only thing remaining is a historical marker, marking the site of the original Huguenot meeting house and church. Some years ago, one of our distant cousins, Sarah Willie Rogers, compiled a book FILLED with information on our family history from the time of their arrival in the colonies to modern day. There are excerpts from old wills and information on land grants from the colonial government of South Carolina. It would take some doing, but I could make copies of the pages or try to run down another copy. It really is quite interesting. My great-great-great grandfather was Patrick Simpkins Rogers, the brother of your great-great grandfather Middleton Rogers. Let me know if you'd like to have additional in! formation. I have a TON to share. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Branch Whitcomb 21 Feb 1792 in Braintree, Mass. She was "of Ware" (Mass.). Branch was the son of Lot Whitcomb and Lydia Nye, born in Hardwick, MA, but the family by the time of the marriage seems to have moved to Stockbridge, VT? All of Branch and Betsey's children born in Stockbridge. and Branch m(2) Olive Baker. Branch's father Lot was named as an innkeeper in Ware in 1784 (not far from Hardwick) so obviously the family still had connections there. Who was Elizabeth/Betsey Rogers? Any clues on this one - I have found almost nothing on her. Thanks! Lelani Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: gburke05 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.rogers/10074/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Everyone, I have been researching my family line of Andrew J. Rogers and Susan Noe for YEARS, without much luck. Needless to say that any leads would be greatly appreciated! Andrew J. Rogers was born in Clay County Kentucky in June 1865. Susan Noe was born in Kentucky in November 1866. I think this was in Clay County, Kentucky. On 15 Apr 1888, Susan Noe married Andrew J. Roger. Susan and Andrew moved to Liberty Indiana and also lived around Oxford Ohio for a while. They had at least 8 children. Their children were George (b 1889); Bettie (b. 1890); Bertha (b. 1891); Rose (b. 1893); Ruth (b. 1995); Ross (b. 1899) and Marie Elsie Rogers (b. 12 May 1902). Marie Elsie was my grandmother. As I said, I know very little about this branch of my family. I've got just one tiny picture of three people -- I think this is of Susan Noe and two of her daughters. Attached is this picture. I would just love to hear from anybody why has any additional information! Whatever happened this family? Where are Andrew and Susan buried? Gravesite/location? I would dearly love to pay my respects if I only knew how! Also, do any of their children still live in the Liberty Indiana/Hamilton Ohio area? Many Thanks. 3. I've "rescued" a group of photographs belonging to the CATE Family of Tennessee. The photographs are as follows: 1. Roxana CATE, taken at the Stewart & Dubbs Studio in Knoxville, TN, 1880's or 1890's, child about 1 year 2. W. P. CATE with children Lee, Willie, Bessie, and Dixie, no studio or location, taken in the 1890's or early 1900's, man in his 40's with children 4-13 years 3. Grandmother & Grandfather CATE, taken at the Murdock Studio in Knoxville, TN, 1900's with couple in their 70's, notes "My Father's Parents, Eda CATE HOBSON" and "Jack CATE'S Grandfather" and "Ned & Nancy's Great Grandparents" Based on limited research and thanks to the help of a CATE Family Researcher I have gathered the following information regarding this family: Roxana CATE b. 26 Feb 1892, the daughter of Pryor L. CATE (b. 1 Mar 1869 in Sevier Co. TN) and Paralee Adra BULL (b. 6 Apr 1871 in TN). Roxana married Roger H. ROGERS on 8 Aug 1910. William Perry CATE b. 7 Aug 1866 in Sevier Co. TN and d. 1947, a grandson of Joshua CATE and ggrandson of John CATE Sr. William's wife was Carrie Rosemond BULL b. 18 May 1867 in Sevier Co. TN. Lee E. CATE was b. Nov 1888 in Sevier, TN to parents William Perry CATE and Carrie R. BULL. Lee married Mary Ann "Mollie" ELDER on 10 Jan 1910 and died 9 Apr 1970. Lee E. CATE owned the Cate Motor Coach Co. in Knoxville and Bristol, TN. Willie G. CATE was b. Feb 1891 in Sevier, TN to parents William Perry CATE and Carrie BULL. Bessie CATE was b. Dixie married William Harmon TARWATER on 14 Jul 1920 and had two children, Jean and William Jr.. Eda Irene CATE HOBSON referenced is a sister to Roxana CATE. Eda was b. 28 May 1900 and married Henry David HOBSON in 1927. Jack CATE was also a sibling to the girls. So Grandparents pictured appear to be Madison CATE and Martha A. UNDERWOOD. Madison was the son of Joshua CATE and Martha the daugher of George UNDERWOOD and Elizabeth KYMES. I am hoping to locate someone from this CATE Family so that these wonderful old photographs can be returned to their rightful place with family. 1. Re: [ROGERS] PRES Thos Jefferson
    2. Sorry, my search isn't that far along....like I said, what caught my eye was not Thomas Jefferson, it was the last name of Jane Lilburn.? Like I said, Lilburn/Lilbern was my dads middle name and it is quite unusual. Greg Visit South Fork Kennels website located at www.southforkkennels.com.
