Serena Schoolcraft was born 1836 in Hamilton Co., Illinois, and died in Stephens Co.,Texas Thomas C. & Serena went to Spring Valley , Cherokee Co., Kansas. Thomas died There in 1870 of Yellow jaundice. The Serena married a man whose last name was Van Pelt and had a little girl named Molly Van Pelt. I don't know what happeded to Van Pelt, but Serena and Molly moved to Stephens Co., Texas to be near her parents James & Temperance Schoolcraft. James & Temperance Schoolcraft: James Henry Schoolcraft born Jan. 29, 1811/12 in Hopkjins Co., KY. died before 1885 in Picketville, Stephens Co.Texas. Married Temperance Trout, daughter of George trout & Katherine Nall. Temperance was born May 14, 1818 in Davidson Co., Tenn. died 1885 in Stephens Co., Texas. I only have Serena as their only child; but there could have been more children. James Henry Schoolcraft's parent where John Schoolcraft and Sary( an Indian). John was born 1786 in Harrison Co., Virginia and died in Clarkton, Missouri. He married Sary. She was born 1786 in Virginia, and died in Clarkton, Missouri. John's parents are James Schoolcraft & Elizabeth Shawnee ( I am not sure if Shawnee was her last name or if she was from the Shawnee indian tribe) James Schoolcraft was bonr August 12, 1743 in Schenectady, Schoharie Co., New York and died in 1820 in Pulaski Co., Kentucky. He married Elizabeth Shawnee she was born in 1743 in Schenectady, New York, and died in 1799.
