You know, I've seen these names before. Fortunately, I can account for our George W. Rogers from the early 1800's until his death in 1845, so I know they aren't the same person. But I wonder if they could be related somehow. I've been told that our George was from North Carolina (somewhere). Did your George Washington Rogers remain in Kentucky?
