I have hit a brick wall - I have the following information on my Rogers line, all in Clay, WV. Clay County/Nicholas County border changed around the turn of the century - am coming up with nothing. What is provided has come from living family members: gfather: Charles Garfield Rogers b. 2/22/1906 d. 9/9/1998 m. Anna Lillian Rogers children: Charles, Betty, Jack, David, Phyllis and Larry Michael ggfather: William Clark Rogers b. 4/25/1880 d. 2/15/1962 m. Annie Acenith Miller Children: Hattie (died in infancy), Charles, W. C. Jr. (died at age 10 or ll), Norville, Marie (died in late teens), Bertha and Pearl gggfather: Elsa or Elsie or L.Z. Rogers married Mary Jerusha Rogers children known: William Clark and Samuel - may have been others Now comes the hard part - family members aren't sure what gggfather's name really was, as shown above. Gggmother was known as "grandma Rooshie", and is thought to have imigrated from Ireland - Gggfather Elsie was thought to have imigrated from Scotland. Ggfather, William Clark Rogers, had a brother, Sam, who lived in Michigan, and I believe whose family is still in the Lansing MI area. They may have had other siblings, but it is not known. It is believed that when Elsie and "Rooshie" imigrated, they moved into western Virginia, now West Virginia, but perhaps in Greenbrier or Summers County, but later moved into Nicholas County, which later became Clay County, in Clay and in Lizemores WV. It is also believed that the "Rogers" was originally spelled "Rodgers". Any help out there? I'm stuck. Thanks! Missi Howell
