You can look up your fathers Social Security number online and then with about $7.00 and a letter to the Soc. Sec. Dept. and a little time you can request your fathers number and that slip of paper will have your fathers parents names on it. I recently found out that if you know where your family members are buried the Sextant at the cemetery can tell you what funeral home took care of the burial and or if you go to the funeral home first they can and are usually willing to give you a free copy of the funeral record and death certificate with most of the same info. on it. Don't forget to look in the obituaries of the newspapers on Microfilm. I was very surprised at what information can be listed on there. Also look to the vital records dept. where you where born they MIGHT be able to help you. I have also heard about a spy program at www.spyheadquarters.com that you can look up if you want to check out criminal records. If you have the time look up your parents marraige certificate because they used to list the parents names on that as well. Most of use the internet. I have found A LOT of info on there you just have to be nosey and have time to look.
