I am seeking information on William Rogers, son of Clayton and Betridge Sadler Rogers, born about 1780 or '90 in Chester Co., SC. Clayton descends from the NJ line of John and Mary Groom Rogers, John and Marrtha Clayton Rogers, and Matthew and Margery Brown. The family moved from NJ to Chester Co., SC in 1774. William was one of four children by Clayton and Betridge Sadler Rogers: William, Amos, Isaac and Rachel. William supposedly moved to Tennessee, married (?) and had 14 children, including Jefferson C. Rogers (my great-great grandfather) and 9 other boys and 4 girls. Seven of those 9 other boys supposedly became Methodist ministers. Have been desperately seeking further information on William for 10 years. Anyone recognize this line?
