    1. [RODGERS] Ancestors
    2. Hello: I am hoping you take the time to read this carefully. " You may be researching your it today, but your ancestors researched it before and our descendants will research it again, I just hope one of us had the sense to find a way to share with somebody today". It is a struggle to provide your hard work to somebody else, for a database that is freely shared with all, especially, when you have paid for the copies of documents, made those long trips and talked to all of those people. But as it sits on your desk, or in your closet, it may just help one person better understand their ancestors. If you have hesitated to contribute your information up til now, and want to, please, send a gedcom file or printed material to me. I'll be glad to include it and will have you as the source. Yes, you may want to publish a book for immediate family someday and hopefully you will. But the names, dates and locations of your ancestors should be shared with everyone now, while people who are desperately seeking the information will still be living when you release it. Many many of you have done just that, and for your efforts, as well as continued efforts, your ancestors thank you, the living relatives you have helped thank you and I thank you. For without you, no database is or was possible, with or without "The Problems of a new Major Theme Park or Major Zoo", with getting the Database distributed. I was greatly critized, as being out for profit, when I first started this as a CD Project, but that was never my goal. But if not for profit, then why charge twenty five dollars for what costs about three dollars to distribute? Well, my goal was to be able to send out copies to Genealogy Societies and Libraries all over the world. In fact, without saying so, I have been able to send out about 7 to 8 free copies for every order that I have received from day one, so that these Genealogy Societies and Libraries, have a copy in their archives. For as human beings we live and die, but these archives will keep "Your Rogers/Rodgers Database" safe for generations to come. You see, that was my goal and is my goal today. So for every order that comes in from you, I continue to do it today. At the same time, I have also been able to send some out to those of you who could not afford a copy. And yes, there will be one or two on the list that will be upset with me again for mentioning a "cost" of a CD. But without those funds, You would not have been able to place your name into all of those Libraries and Genealogy Societies. For you see, as I accumulated data, I also accumulated you as the source, so your name is with the information. The more you have helped and continue to help, your name is found in more and more places within the database. So I did it for you, for our ancestors and not for a profit as was thought at one time. Now, as far as the Rogers/Rodgers Family Database being placed up online. If that is found possible and it can get done, it will be done as soon as possible. For anyone wanting a copy of it sent by email, just email me and I'll get it out to you. For any of you wanting a copy of the information on CD, and want to support my goal to send more copies to Libraries and Genealogy Societies, order a copy, and provide up to 8 names and addresses of where to send other free copies. For those of you who can afford to, just send a donation, and a list of Libraries and Genealogy Societies you would like copies sent to. With your help and support, I will get the job of distributing this information done in as many ways as possible. The CD continues to be my best choice of distribution, and, from how I have set this up above, you have a verifiable way to make sure I do what I say. But I believe that my actions in getting this database distributed show my intentions clearly, or at least I hope so. Thank you for allowing me to bend your ear a bit today. There are no methods of distribution that will make everyone happy, not at all. But the method I personally prefer, as stated above, continues to be my method of choice. I just think that as many different ways that are available to distribute it, should and are being used to do so. In the future, as this technology improves or more knowledge on how to use it comes to us, there in fact will be easier and easier ways to view the information. That is what I want, and that is what we are all striving for together.
