My grandfather Frank Rodgers/Rogers is a wall that I can't seem to get over, through, around or under. I hope that someone out there has some knowledge of any or all of these people. The following is about all I know about him and his five children: Frank Rodgers/Rogers b abt 1893 in KY and was working as an electrician in the mines according to the 1920 census for Earling, Logan Co, WV. In his household at the time was his wife Cassie Mae Hightower and their children Thelma, Edith (my mother who is still alive at 82), Jack, Fred and Lucille Rodgers. they were born from 1917 to abt 1925. My mother thinks her father died about 1926. She and her siblings were put in an orphanage in London, KY. Her mother got her and her older sister Thelma out a couple years later. Jack, Fred and Lucille were left in the orphanage. I found Fred last May. He was adopted and lived out his life, and as his daughter, my new cousin said, "he never had to want for anything". Thelma left home on her own as soon as she could and was never heard from again. So these mysteries remain: 1. What happened to Thelma after she went out on her own? 2. Jack and Lucille who were left in the orphanage? 3. Did their father Frank die or did he abandon them? 4. If he died, where and how? 5. Where is he buried?
