Robert settled in the Swatara River area, which, in modern reference, is east of Harrisburg. There were two famous Presbyterian churches in the area that at time. The confusing issue is that the reference is not to the current town of Hanover, PA, but to this area east of modern Harrisburg that was, at that time, the western frontier of the United States. I suggest your visit or call the Lancaster Historical Society, in Lancaster, PA, and ask them to review the Rodgers file. I believe that there is a report on William Rodgers and his descendents in that file. A copy is also in the Dauphine County Historical Society (the county of modern Harrisburg).
