Chocy; Here is a run down of the children: James Monroe or Miller (haven't decided yet) RODGERS b. 3 Dec 1809 - NC Eleanor RODGERS b. abt 1814 - NC John M. RODGERS b. 18 Apr 1816 - NC Hugh Simpson RODGERS b. 11 Jun 1817 - NC Ann RODGERS b. 27 May 1818 - NC Elizabeth Jane RODGERS b. 4 May 1820 - NC Martha L. RODGERS b. abt 1823 - NC Nancy M. RODGERS b. abt 1827 - NC I have no idea "where" in NC they came from. Some speculation has been Mecklenberg or Orange counties. Others have said definitely Greene county . . . I don't know. My James Simpson RODGERS was b. abt 1779 in NC and died 5 May 1867 in Marshall county, MS. Unfortunately, he did not leave a Will. You mentioned that James was a common name. I have found that Hugh as well as John are very common names. Of course, lets not leave the women out. Elizabeth ranks high as well as Ann and Martha. Thanks for asking . . . someday I may lose a "brick" or two out of my wall . . .
