Robert, You are correct that descendants of Doswell well living in the Sequatchie Valley in TN. However, they were not the only Rogers there. Jesse Rogers was also in Marion County, TN between 1826 and 1845. Jesse was b. 1791. He was the son of John (the Powder Maker) b. 1757 and grandson of Benjamin (the Immigrant) Rogers who arrived in VA from England in 1734. Also listed in the Marion Co 1830 census was Jesse's uncle, Jeremiah Rogers b. ca 1765 in Montgomery Co, VA. Although Jesse's grandfather and Jeremiah's father, Benjamin (the Immigrant) was in Montgomery Co, VA at the same time Doswell was living there, the two lines do not appear to be connected. Benjamin and his family were living in the Cripple Creek area where Benjamin was appointed Constable in 1777 and 1782.
