    2. Wanda Stewart
    3. Probably no connection, but since I know almost the same amount you do about your Rodgers line as I do about my Rodgers line, thought I'd give it a shot --- just in case. My paternal grGrandfather was, supposedly, Shadrach Norval (various spellings) RODGERS and was born 28 April 1863 in Alabama or Georgia, anyway, somewhere in the south, I was told. He died shortly before Sept. 1900, unknown place, but my grandmother, his daughter, was born 2 Sept 1895 and she stated that he died before she was 5 years old. As my grandmother was born in Arkinda, Arkansas I would say they, the Rodgers, also migrated to Arkansas. I am wondering if your Elisha could be a father or uncle of my Shadrach. It has been suggested that my Shadrach's father was Mesach, but who knows? Anyway, if you have information forward that shows a Shade or Norval , or Elbert, Timothy, Waymon or Bertha in your line, please contact me. Thank you -----Wanda aueagle71@hotmail.com wrote: This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. 1. [RODGERS] RODGERS OF PENNSYLVANIA
    2. Ann Marie
    3. It has been 2 months, so I am sending out my brick wall again in the hopes someday it will ring a bell with someone. Searching for Ellen/Nellie Rodgers. Born in 1845 in Ireland. Arrived in Philadelphia Pennsylvania sometime after 1870. Married John McCrea in the Cathedral of Sts Peter and Paul in Philadelphia, PA 1873. They had 8 children (MARY, JOHN, MICHAEL, LETITIA, FLORENCE, ANNA, HELEN & MARGARET) and lived in Chestnut Hill on Germantown Avenue. Ellen/Nellie died in 1889. Searching for her before she became a McCrea. Family supposedly lived in Mt Ariy Pennsylvania which is part of Philadelphia. Any connections out there? _________________________________________________________________ Dream of owning a home? Surnames: Rodgers // Crotts // Cook // Whisenhunt Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hgDBAIB/1677 Message Board Post: James Crotts m Martha J. (maid name unknown, maybe Rodgers, or Cook, not proven) This is very exciting to have found a Whisenhunt/Crotts Message board. I have worked on my Husbands genealogy for several years now and get stuck in Lincoln County Arkansas every time. J W and MCW, wife of JW Whisenhunt are buried in the Plesant Hill Cemetery. We think they are the parents of Joseph Lindsey Whisenhunt 9-27-1867/ 6-24-1938, Birth place, not proven. Brothers and Sisters, not known. Married Leona E Crotts, 2-28-1889 Lived on the farm in that area, had 10 children, moved to Van Zandt County, about 1919 with 8 living children. We have good records from 1919. But need more info. for the childhood years of both lines, Whisenhunt and Crotts. Crotts: My assumptions are that Leona's mother is Martha J. (Rodgers, first marriage name widowed with 3 children) and (Crotts, second marriage name) he died before 1890. Because Martha J. Crotts gave a deed to Leona calling it her "dowry", being a widow of James Crotts, 120 Ac. in Lincoln Co. The Land was originally given as a Land Grant to Joab Cook, 1858/1860. This has made me think she could have been a Cook. Have not found a census to prove this. Any help on my search would be very much appreciated. feel free to email at whisone@etxrn.com

    2. Lary Walker
    3. Hi Ludean, I don't have this exact Rodgers in my data, but do have that several of the Rodgers daughters names their children "Wesley" as a first or middle name. May have been only been only a coincidence or they were all Methodist, &/or that was the ministers name, but my Rodgers were also from NE MS. Specifically from Marshall Co., in the early to mid-1800. What is the time line for Wesley? Let me know if these might help? Lary lwalker@everestkc.net

    2. AJ Stewart
    3. Seeking information about John Rodgers and two of his wives, Elizabeth Howell and Sarah Howell, of Chicot Co, AR. Marriages - Chicot Co, AR John Rogers, age 25 in 1843 = born 1818 Sarah Eliza Clarkston, 16 = born 1827 Married 11 June 1843 (Family Tree Maker CD has her as Sarah E. Clarkson, no age) John Rodgers, age 25 in 1846 = born 1821 Marion/Miriam Flutcher, age 38 = born 1808 Married 21 March 1846 John Rogers, age 32 in 1856 = born 1824 Elizabeth Howell, age 26 = born 1830 Married 10 July 1856 John Rogers, age 26 in 1863 = born 1837 Sarah Howell, age 20 = born 1843 Married 27 December 1863 His age is not correct on the marriage to Sarah Howell as proven on the 1880 census and other marriage records. The children listed in his household on several censuses confirm he was one and the same John Rodgers who married Marion/Miriam Flutcher, Elizabeth Howell and Sarah Howell. It appears he is, also, the John Rodgers who married first Sarah Eliza Clarkston. John Rogers, age 60 in 1880 census = born 1820 (He was m to Sarah Howell on this census.)

I don't have a CORBER RODGERS in my family that I know about, but here is what I do have: in the 1880 Neuse River, Wake Co.,NC, and St. Matthews in 1870 Census: Nathaniel Rogers = born about 1824 married in 1858 in Wake Co., to Edie Rogers, born about 1828 according to the records of slave marriages. Nathaniel may have had another wife prior, judging by the age of some of his children. their known children are: Luke Rogers - b. abt 1848 (later started spelling it Rodgers) Martha Rogers - abt. 1852 James Rogers - abt. 1856 Isaac Rogers - abt. 1858 Cherry Rogers - abt 1859 Nathaniel Rogers - abt. 1861 Louisa Rogers - abt 1862 Lulu or Lucy Rogers - abt. 1864 Josiah Rogers - abt 1869 (later called himself Joe Rodgers, my ggrandfather. Moved to Warren County, NC and raised a large family) Annie Rogers - abt 1876 (says Ammer in 1880) Luke seems to have married Candace and they had the following children, and lived in Raleigh, in 1880: Lulu Rodgers - b.1872 Corrinna " 1873 Sarah " 1876 Anna " 1879 Lizzie " 1877 Isaac Rogers married Mary, and was living in Neuse River in 1880. 1. [RODGERS] SCOTT/ANGUS/KIDWELL CONNECTIONS
    2. Steve and Judy Sanders
    3. I am looking for info on a Josephine/Josie Scott who married a Rogers/Rodgers. They were from Giles Co., TN. Josie was born after 1850--I think around 1851 or so. Her parents were William Scott and Mary Kidwell. Mary Kidwell's mother was Elizabeth Angus I just really do not have much info on Josie/Josephine. I have found a James and Josephine Rogers in the 1880 Giles Co., TN. census in 13th District, but have no idea if this could be them. The Scott's, Angus' and Kidwells lived in and around this area--northern part of Giles (13th, 14th, 15th Districts). So this James and Josephine could be a possibility. Would anyone on this list happen to have run across these names in their Rogers research? Judy Sanders
