It is about one hour from Warsaw to New Philadelphia. I found Arch Rodgers and his wife Mary Elizabeth Rodgers buried at Darling Run cemetery near Warsaw Ohio. Arch was born in 1869 and died in 1951. Mary Elizabeth was born in 1872 and died in 1952. I am sure that these are the parents of Guy Rodgers( who married the Mary Elizabeth Sowers born 5-18-1898) who is the father of Ernest Eugene Rodgers (all three buried at Valley View Cemetery, Warsaw Ohio)who is the father of my husband Frederick Joseph Rodgers because "Aunt Bernice" is buried next to Arch and Mary Elizabeth. Her stone read Bernice E. Rodgers Hays. She was born in 1907 and died in 1993. I remember my mother in law Clara Marjorie Williams Rodgers (died May 29, 1997;buried at Valley View Cemetery, Warsaw Ohio) had said that we were related to her and that she had passed. I have her obituary. She is buried next to her husband Oscar P. who was born 1897 and died in 1965. It appears the there were only 2 children: Guy and Bernice. Guy has one son retired, living in Naples,Florida. Will write to him to see if he has any additional information. I'm sorry but I don't think that would be the same Merle Rodgers, or Rogers, I'm not even sure how the name was spelled. You see, it was a false name that my real father used after he deserted us around 1934. I just found out about the name he was using ten or more years ago, I was trying to locate him to see if he was alive. I have found out since then, that he has died. He would have been in his i80's or 90's when he died. I do hope you find the one you are looking for. Don't give up.

He served with the 10th KS Infantry. . Apparently, he was brought up on charges for sleeping upon his post. He ended up being acquitted but when the case was reviewed, it was determined that the court had erred and should have found him guilty. He was returned to his regiment for service. If any descendants of his would like a copy of his file, I can email it to them.
