Hello. I am looking for the descendants of Celia Rogers b. 13 Dec 1892 Miles, Clinton, IA. and her husband Clinton Edgar Gillette. In 1944 they were living in Mt. Vernon, IA. I know that is not much but perhaps someone recognizes them. Thank you. I am looking for more information on the group of people that left Yoevil, Dorsetshire, England in 1837 and made their way to Hawley, Minnesota. The Rev George Rodgers was married to Emily Chant, and had four children. Where George Rodgers actually came from in England and his ancestors are my focus. Information on others in the group, and what happened to them would be very interesting. Dear List, We received our Rogers CD today from Thomas. What a GREAT example of determination to put together a research project we can ALL use the information and direction to help us with our research. In some cases I'm sure it will help some around their brick walls. For what I received, it is the cheapest genealogy resource I have ever purchased. The sheer time and effort, despite the multiple scraps, the information resource turned out very well. Despite the problems, Thomas deserves appreciation for a job he said he would do, in the fashion he said he would do it and considering the sheer volume, he did a great job. . Thank you Thomas, for your effort to preserve the "ROGERS, RODGERS, ROGGERS" heritage in this medium. Eleanor et al.........In view of Eleanor's message this morning I reviewed the data in the volume I quoted from yesterday. The Author, Mr Seaver, in his introduction defines the volume as a "Compilation" of data from a large number of volumes which he lists. He states that they (American Historical-Genealogical Society) have selected data they thought would be of interest to the general public, and that "those desiring further information are advised to consult the volumes listed in the List of References." The Introduction also states that this volume is published by the Society as one of 49 such family volumes published "in recent years".........and that the author and his associates "will be glad to give their cooperation to members of the family who are interested in having a complete genealogy of the family published." Hardly sounds like a "Con-artist" out to clean up from the general public.........BTW, the volume sold for $3 in 1929, and my copy was apparently republished in 1972 and sold for $3. I understand Eleanor's comments as regards to firms such as the Bath, Ohio people. These people tell you that the volume they have to sell is YOUR Family genealogy which of course is not true...........Mr Seaver goes to great length to point out that each group of people within a numbered group are all related and there are many many numbered groups, and he does not connect any one group to another as he apparently did not have the data available to do so.....and he points that out quite clearly. However, as I pointed out yesterday, I am only the messenger not the author. You may use, abuse, or ignore anyones message, as you please.........but I would hardly report to the PO my concerns related to a booklet published 71 years ago......
