I take it you are willing to do lookups for others in your area of the country ? We need to set up a work net with all of us to work together as a family here . It takes outgoing people to make a list of so many people work in good advantage. ALL Rogers that have Genealogy websites, if you post them here now we can all view them, I will add them to a links list that will be accessible in the list message tag lines soon. A surname list is a circle , we all work together and cheer each other on with good esteem . Genealogists MOTTO; ((( I will do every thing in my power to help others ))) 2 things I promise to do 1 I will make a WebPages of links to show where ALL the Rogers websites are as you turn them in 2 I will make a picture page so we can share pictures as people send them to me to post . See my website , you will get an idea of what I am doing, its over 140 pages , also includes almost 2000 Indian links and web host pages for other lists. http://www.angelfire.com/or/matney/ Good manors and staying to the purpose of the list are the rules See http://www.rootweb.com look for AUP to see rootsweb rules I am the new list owner and I also work in respect to other list owners and also Lane . If there are any problems contact me. Hecklers beware ; heckling is not good list manors and you might find your self (*gone*) asap. I am going to run a busy list in respect of every one here as if they are my close family . List purpose you say . Genealogy and friendships , helping others helps you ; using respect on the list gets better results . I agree we have a purpose = its to solve all our needs and we need to be avid to do this . As I said in a very close previous message you have many things to use here at RW , World connect, Genconnect , Global search , LANE had those in some of the tag lines , here in an older message Cheska makes a very good example of how to get very wide recognition also . I say rather than be limited to a local CD you should submit to the projects that have the widest circulation and are free. Read the below message - Cheska is also a very well know researcher and list owner of quality and standards . <G> We will wake up the Rogers list and make it productive. These type of messages are not acceptable to the list . This is just they type of message I was telling the list (not) to send because these cause people to withdraw People who are down to business are doing genealogy, not complaining about how the list is run and adding to the depression of others on the list. I know you have a demanding job and thankless job, trying to keep things on an even track, and at the same time keep order, not take sides keep things flowing, at the same time not ruffle any feathers. For that, I have to give you a big "A" I think you had a felling when you put out Sub: e-mail something was coming down. You are right. We have been on your list over two years, and have held back on any comments hoping things would improve over the time. We were wrong, I hope you can get control and get the list back to it's original intent, withought annihilating any persons. I think all bridges should be repaired if posable. I have more, but I wish to here from you first. Thanks for your time. May I ask what, (whatever..............) has to do for those of us that are working on genealogy?? Have you lost control of the Kings English, if we are researching back in history, we need to use the language and spelling of the time. The other point is, which Reply-to:[email protected], which e-mail are you referring, there have been hundreds, which are we to apply your comet, (whatever...........)?? We have seen disconnected correspondence in the past, but thought we had just missed an e-mail. Now we know it is just a matter of fact thought, of those sending the e-mail. We would like to see text that make since, and if you want to give crypted information to each other do it to each other. Thanks. OOPS As usual I see I managed to goof. Before heading to Ohio, looks like all of my ROGERS ancestors were from Barnstable, Mass. Solomon (b. 1750) also had son Solomon b. 25 Feb 1780, brother of "my" James. THIS Solomon also had a son Solomon Sage. Apparently this family liked the name. ----- Original Message ----- From: John Rogers <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, June 16, 2000 5:52 AM Subject: RE: [ROGERS] ROGERS, Thomas/Rebecca Higgins m. 2 Dec 1736 - Solomon/Serviah SMITH 1777 > I have a Solomon M.
