They have a right to do as they wish. I'm staying here! As for me, I'm still trying to find some information on this one and do not intend to be forced to leave again with bickering. Here's my brick wall: George W. ROGERS, born 1853 somewhere in NY (so I'm told), married Viora A. NISBET (found the correct spelling on a family tombstone) born 1857, again somewhere in NY. George died 10-10-1915 in Eaton Rapids, MI and Viora died 1-7-1932 in ER. Both are buried in the Rosehill Cemetery there. They had three sons, Earl, James and Arch. 2. Found this in "Morristown Guide to Historic Sites" Thought someone might be able to make us of it. Dot The wisteria-draped Victorian house on the corner was built in 1852 by C. Raymond Perry Rodgers, then a U.S. Navy lieutenant. He was a nephew of three commodores, John Rodgers, Oliver H. and Matthew C. Perry, all officers with distinguished records beginning with the War of 1812. Rodgers was superintendnet of the U.S. Naval Academy 1874-78, after serving inn the Mexican, Seminole and Civil Wars. from 1878-1880, he cmooanded all the naval forces in the Pacific. His wife was Julia Slidell, younger sister of his aunt, Jane Slidell who was the wife of Commodore Matthew Perry, famous for his expedition to Japan in 1854 and who brought back the wisteria found on many homes in the are. Two of Admiral Rodgers's sons became rear admirals. ==== ROGERS Mailing List ==== To Reply [email protected] <> List Problems [email protected] Unsubscribe?
