Thanks Lane; If there is one thing I will do is take good care of the list , and as Rogers is my Grand Parents is like a special project. I have a lot of time and energy , its well divided up between 28 lists 2 geneaolgy societies , US Gen web and my web site. My life is taking care of my disabled wife and giving the Kids some time in between. My Older son is learning how to do web pages so he can help add things, I have several web site locations for overflow so I wont run out of room, but on the most part I feel we are a family and will do what I can to bring us together to help find data that is (not) on the net and get there . And as to the healing effort I am temporarily going to moderate those who want to send arguments to the list . I (will) not unsub any one , but I will limit their posting ability till I know they are not going to upset the list . I have heard from a few people who have just been sitting in the lurk mode who are getting their courage to begin posting . I also believe in free genealogy , we all help each other we are all winners. I will use the up most respect to every one ; but if some one just thinks they can post to a genealogy list and start a list war , you will only begin your own demise <G> Good manors and staying to the purpose of the list are the rules See http://www.rootweb.com look for AUP to see rootsweb rules Dan ----- Original Message ----- From: -Lane <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, June 17, 2000 4:42 AM Subject: [ROGERS] The New Listowner is Dan ... > Hello everyone! > > I am in Digest Mode only now so I receive my messages late ...... > > As the original list members know, I started this list years ago at Maiser > when the "Rogers Hunters" were having trouble contacting each other. Very good Hal = It just goes to show we have a good resource with Rootweb and many ways to search it. Our main page is http://resources.rootsweb.com/surnames/r/o/ROGERS/ and our list members support page will be http://www.angelfire.com/or/matney/cherokeelinks.html Try the genconnects and world search's but also while you are there feel free to add your query and data so those who are looking for it can find you. One thing I would like to mention is the fact that these genconnects and world connects are viewed and searched buy people who are not even on our lists or may not even know what a list is, so its a good way to expand your resources. Hello cousins! This line is VERY interesting to me. For anyone who doesn't know, I'm looking for a Reuben, or William Reuben, Rogers born 1811 in NY who married a Sally McNair. Reuben was my ggg grandfather. Is there any further information on these people available? My Reuben shows up with a Rebecca Clark living in the household in one census... the names Jessie, Lucinda, show up in my lines... the time period is so close. Anyone? -Nancy In a message dated 6/17/00 9:22:27 AM Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: << If you have a NJ Rogers let me know. Thank you Lane for all of your hard work. Volunteers are so over-worked and under-appreciated by those who gain from their efforts. Leave us not forget, that is a volunteer activity, and sharing our own knowledge is what makes a list great or not. I haven't been doing much on this line of the family and now think it's time to get back to it. My great grandfather was Minot Ingalls Rogers b. 1829 in Jefferson Co. N.Y. He married 1st. Adeline Dewey and they had Charles E. Rogers. He married 2nd Jerusha Haines, b. 1836. Their children: Frank Dow Rogers, b. 1857 Ralph Rogers, b. 1859 Edward C. Rogers, b. 1860 Eliza Jane Rogers, b. 1862 Brayton A. Rogers, b. 1870 ( my grandfather) Robert Haines Rogers, b. 1877 I do have a bit of information on these folks, but it does not include much on their spouses and children. Is there anyone out there who has these family members in their Rogers line? I'd love to hear from you. I've enjoyed everyone's responses & questions. I haven't been able to find out anything on my line & would like to know if anyone has any information. My great grandfather was John Henry Rogers. I can't find out how when he came to North FL, or from where he came, but he shows up in the 1900's census in Mayo, FL (Lafayette County). Fannie Mashburn was his wife, my great grandmother. There are lots of Mashburns around, but I can't find the connection to my Fannie Mashburn. Fannie was born in May, 1864 & died in May 1912. (At least that is what is on her tombstone). John Henry & Fannie divorced somewhere around 1910 or 1911. Fannie remarried in 1911 to a Hobbs. Anyone know anything? ==== ROGERS Mailing List ==== To Reply [email protected] <> List Problems [email protected] Unsubscribe? Send the message UNSUBSCRIBE to: [email protected] or ....
