I have NOT been getting duplicate and triplicate messages. It could be there is a server bouncing messages around somewhere - I'm on the west coast in the state of WA, don't know where the Rootsweb server is ... The other possibility is that folks could be replying to ALL when they respond to a message - this will cause the sender to get at least 2 copies or more IF your email address appears more than once. You get a copy from the Rogers List, and another from your own email account. Just a thought ... I'm pleased to see so much action on the list. Maybe someone will recognize my ancestors. Duncan Rodgers and Lucy Thompson Rodgers were from Cayuga County, NY. I know of two son, George, ca 1822, and Edward, ca 1825. There were two daughters, Jane Ann and Mary Ann, who married Thomas Lester, and John Lester, respectively. George and Edward moved to Wisconsin just before 1850 and lived there for at least 30 years. George may have moved to California in the early 1880's. Edward stayed in Wisconsin and died in 1901. The Lester families may have lived in the Broome County area in the late 1800's. Anything sound familiar? It appears that this brought all hands loose, and the BURLESONS knowing they could not fight a nation, consequently could not stay in peace and safety any longer, left immediately, determining to go to Missouri. Two of them, Edward and Joseph, came to our house in Franklin County and persuaded father to go with them, which he concluded to do, and on the 16th of October we started for Howard County, Missouri. The BURLESONS being in a hurry started some time before we did, making the entire trip that fall and winter. We being later in the season... Hope this helps some. If you find any early Franklin Co., TN folks in your search, sure would love to know. Hi, I have the same book with the same information. There are several members here who don't accept or know of some others who don't except the information in that volume. Suggest using it as a starting place an looking further for confirmation/verification........Not sure that anyone on the list right now is involved in that family..... Hal PS: Generally people don't respond to messages such as your original message because they just don't have the information you want and not that they don't want to give you the information...but bear in mind that tomorrow a new someone may come along that does have the information.......keep at it.......
