OHIO DEATH CERTIFICATE INDEX IN DANGER Genealogists tracing Ohio ancestors could lose a valuable online resource as early as July 1. The Ohio Historical Society (OHS) may have to shut down its Ohio Death Certificate Index, a searchable online database spanning 1913 to 1937, due to insufficient state funding and staff cutbacks. On-site access to the index and death certificates-from the Ohio Historical Center in Columbus-also could be limited if OHS can't raise enough funding. You can help save OHS by becoming a member or making a financial contribution. Click here for details.
