Greetings! I have a husband, a dog, several rockers and several brickwalls! I'm here in Maine trying to find grgrandmothers....parents of Ella Deane Wardwell b.1847 and d.1889. The other is a Mary Calden Beede for whom I have more info, but am still looking for more. To my knowledge these women were both born in ME. Any ideas? Thanks! Nancy
Hello, Nancy ! I can't give you any information re the parents of Ella Deane WARDWELL, but since my father's brother (my uncle) Charles W, WALLACE, married a Bernice WARDWELL, I thought it might be worth checking to see if there might be a connection to your WARDWELL family. Charles W. WALLACE was born 17 Jan 1877 in St. Marys, York County, NB Canada and moved to ME (as child of 4 yrs.) with his family in 1881., He grew up in Houlton, ME., became a Methodist clergyman, served several Methodist churches in ME and NH, and died in 1943. Charles and Bernice had 2 children, C. Wardwell and Lura. Bernice, C. Wardwell and Lura later moved to California ( probably after the death of Charles. ) and died there, C. Wardwell died about 1993. Is there any connection to your WARDWELL family ?
