    3. Hello, In my case the Baptismal certificates that I requested from the Church, were no longer held at the Church. They had been moved to the Archdiocese of Atlanta, GA. .....due to the date 1873 Ordinarily, if one knows the name of the Church and the date of baptism, it is always wise to contact the Church first and see if they have the records on hand. Dates are usually requested along with father and mothers name. When I request from Ireland I ask for the usual amount of the donation to cover the search.....some of these searches can be very lengthily. The second request that one sends can be send with the accompanying check. Do you know the name of the Church or parish or district.? 3. It appears that in 1922 there may have been a correction of the loss. See http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/8/1435.html and "[Code of Federal Regulations] [Title 8, Volume 1] [Revised as of January 1, 2003] From the U.S. Government Printing Office via GPO Access [CITE: 8CFR324.4] [Page 794] TITLE 8--ALIENS AND NATIONALITY CHAPTER I--IMMIGRATION AND NATURALIZATION SERVICE, DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE PART 324--SPECIAL CLASSES OF PERSONS WHO MAY BE NATURALlZED: WOMEN WHO HAVE LOST UNITED STATES CITIZENSHIP BY MARRIAGE AND FORMER CITIZENS WHOSE NATURALIZATION IS AUTHORIZED BY PRlVATE LAW--Table of Contents Sec. 324.4 Women restored to United States citizenship by the act of June 25, 1936, as amended by the act of July 2, 1940. A woman who was restored to citizenship by the act of June 25, 1936, as amended by the act of July 2, 1940, but who failed to take the oath of allegiance prescribed by the naturalization laws prior to December 24, 1952, may take the oath before any naturalization court or office of the Service within the United States. Such woman shall comply with the procedural requirements of Sec. 324.4(b) and (c) except that a fee not exceeding $1.00 may be charged if the woman requests a copy of the oath. 3. The HANDYBOOK, as I said before, is a must for me. I too bought the 8th edition ($19.95) and have used it a lot, but the first one I split up is still a great reference tool with the street maps, library data, etc. I filed with ea. State. I presume Everton still has their offices in Nibley UT. I don't subscribe to the GENEALOGICAL HELPER any more but we have visited their library in Utah several times. Had to go there when we went to the FHL in Salt Lake! We bought our first computer from them - a Kay-Pro simply because it would run the old computer program they were selling at the time (in the 1980's). It is/was built like a tank! We still have it....stashed away....promised the Historical Society we'd give it to them (some day). One time when we were in the library they were offering the outdated Kay-Pro computers for $100 - their HANDYBOOK (with slight flaws) for $1.00 ea. I didn't buy another computer but did buy several HANDYBOOKs and gave to friends. juanita > Juanita, I will second that. 2. I order baptismal records from the ARchidiose of Boston which held all the old records...perhaps the archidiose does there too. I made a donation as a fellow lister suggested that procedure as many request records and never offer to pay for the time or the paper. Ann

    2. Recently, reference was made in a posting about obtaining baptismal certificates from the Catholic Archdioceses of Atlanta, GA. I am interested in obtaining baptismal certificate for great uncle who lived in Pittsburgh, PA. Who do I contact? The Catholic Dioceses in Pittsburgh or the local church. Any specific procedures to follow. What information must I have to submit.

This line came from England and the Andover- Salem area of MA. Son,Samuel, of Thomas was one of the believed witches hanged in Salem! Somewhere we may have been related but not since the 1600s! Thanks again! Nancy

    3. Hello, Nancy ! I can't give you any information re the parents of Ella Deane WARDWELL, but since my father's brother (my uncle) Charles W, WALLACE, married a Bernice WARDWELL, I thought it might be worth checking to see if there might be a connection to your WARDWELL family. Charles W. WALLACE was born 17 Jan 1877 in St. Marys, York County, NB Canada and moved to ME (as child of 4 yrs.) with his family in 1881., He grew up in Houlton, ME., became a Methodist clergyman, served several Methodist churches in ME and NH, and died in 1943. Charles and Bernice had 2 children, C. Wardwell and Lura. Bernice, C. Wardwell and Lura later moved to California ( probably after the death of Charles. ) and died there, C. Wardwell died about 1993. Is there any connection to your WARDWELL family ? I still have it and it is a valuable resource to have in your library I am not connected in any way to Everton but all my starting books and forms came from them 34 years ago and they are still in business and I learned a lot from their publications, so they must be good!
