Hi Rosemary, I got the two baptismal certificates from the Catholic Archdioceses of Atlanta, Georgia archives: The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception MARY ELIZABETH O' HARA b Mar.3, 1873 Baptized May 9, 1873 In Gainesville Georgia Sponsors J.P.Byers & Maria C. Bone I have a feeling the above child did not survive, as the second was also named ELIZABETH but with a different middle name. ELIZABETH AGNES O' HARA b Jan.1, 1875 Baptized Feb 13, 1875 Sponsors Michael Kane & Bridget Doyle Parents ROBERT EMMETT O' HARA (Yes, there was indeed a middle name, but sometimes it was left out depending on where he lived) ELIZABETH O' HARA nee VERNON As I said the mother and ELIZABETH AGNES O' HARA were back in Belfast, Ireland by 1898.......it's possible that they left the States before the census. Again any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Any questions.....ask away. Does anyone have a site to check out the passenger list of immigrants from Germany? I don't even know what boat he came over on, but hopefully I can find his name on a list. All I know about him is he was born in 1745 in Germany. He got married and had 21 children, I have most of them. But talking about a brick wall here is one that other researchers nor I have been able to bust through. carolw611@aol.com

Rockers, This is another marvelous site for anyone interested in the early settlers of the area known as New Netherlands. It is rich in both genealogy and history. http://www.rootsweb.com/~nycoloni/ Sharon
Rockers, I stumbled across a fantastic site for anyone with family in the eastern New York State - http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/ The site says: "This website is designed to aid people who want to do accurate genealogical research. The geographical focus is Albany, NY and surrounding counties ( Albany, Columbia, Rensselaer, Greene, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Montgomery, and a little of Herkimer. Also there is a little of Berkshire Co., MA, parts of which were considered to be in NY at one time.). " There are a phenomenal number of research tools here. I spent one entire day exploring, and I never did reach the end. Sharon
kate, what city did they live in and where did you get the baptismal records?. I checked the 1880 census on www.famiklysearch.org for each of the children but found nothing that matches. Perhaps the 1870 census for Ohio would yield something. Perhaps if you had an initial for Robert it would narrow him down in the 1880 census. Ever one listed on the 1880 census had a househiold list attached so you can be sure you have a right family. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Maybe you can make an inquery on a Ohio Newletter through Rootsweb. Did you find any school records for the children in Ohio? We have an IRISH IN ST. LOUIS MAIL LIST which is very helpful, perhaps you can find one in Ohio. Did Robert die - if so, when and where.? Rosemary Tooey
Hello, I was wondering if anyone can help with a search that has come to a complete brick wall!!! I have a ROBERT O' HARA and wife ELIZABETH O' HARA nee VERNON The above were definitely there in 1873 and 1875 as two of their children were born there. MARY ELIZABETH O' HARA b 1873 ELIZABETH AGNES O' HARA b 1875 I have baptism certificates but I really need the birth certificates or some kind of a Census record for in or around those dates. Later the wife and child returned to Ireland. As always any help at all would be really appreciated.Hoping Kate ----- Original Message ----- From: "A Haller" <ahaller@i2k.com> To: <ROCKINGCHAIR-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 06, 2003 5:31 AM Subject: Re: [RC-ROOTS] Anna in Michigan > Hi Sharon, Chuck and all, > Thanks for the encouragement!
