I have found a great book on Dutch colonial New Amsterdam (New York). Russell Shorto's The Island at the Center of the World, is not only informative, it is at times so funny that you have to laugh out loud. For those who subscribe to the theory that the Roblees are descended from Joris Jansen Rapalje and Catalina Trico, there is some information on them (and their 11 children. They estimate there are 1 million descendants of the young textile worker and his teenage bride. If you don't agree, it's still a food book! Phyllis
