Miss Ruth Roblee, age 91, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2006. She was born on December 24, 1914, in Appleton, the daughter of George and Nettie (Vander Hoff) Roblee. Ruth worked for Riverside Paper for a number of years before finding her true vocation—hairdresser. Ruth attended school in Milwaukee to get her license while living with her brother Ray's family and taking house cleaning and babysitting jobs to help pay for her schooling. Ruth worked at Geenens in their beauty shop for many years, and later had her own hairdressing business downtown next door to Kafura Electric. Upon her retirement, Ruth took many trips and vacations. She also took many different classes in the various art forms for additional enjoyment.Ruth prided herself on maintaining the family home and lived there for 90 years. She will be remembered for her friendliness, fortitude, and a style all her own. Ruth is survived by 13 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Frances Weber and Marjorie Lehrer; and three brothers: Earl Roblee, Ray Roblee, and Russ Roblee. She was also preceded in death by one nephew Russell Weber. According to her wishes, no services will be held. She will be interred at St. Mary Cemetery in Appleton.
