I learn something new every day! Where was Harlem Co. NY? That's a new one on me. Was there briefly a Harlem Co. on northern Manhatten Island? Our records have the name "Streight" spelled as "Straight". Pictures of the hotel do exist. Thanks for the news! Phyllis Reed
Thanks for pointing out what is most likely an error! I rather doubt there was ever a Harlem Co., NY. In 1850, Jacob and Lucy lived in Minerva, Essex, NY. Harvey was then 4. In 1860, they lived in Johnsburg, Warren, NY. In 1870, they lived in Chester, Warren, NY. In 1880, they lived in Corinth, Saratoga, NY. I left the spelling of Straight was Streight (even though I thought it was most likely Straight, as it was that way in the Milo Roblee manuscript. I will change it to Straight. Thanks for paying attention to my ramblings, Phyllis!!
