    1. Re: [ROBLEE] Phebe Robblee/John Richards
    2. Bob and Group: We have thought of the possibility of an earliler marriage or living together for John Richards jr. Either with or without Phebe Robblee. John B. Richards shows up in record of Town Clerk for Johnsburg as having died in 1847. That is the only record we have of him. No parentage is listed. HIs death is only registered in the brief time of three years between 1847 and 1850 when these records were mandatory for town clerks. After 1850 records were not kept until about 1880. He died at age 17 of TB consumption, making his birth date approx 1828. In the 1840 census for John Richards, jr. there is a male under 5 living with the now John and Phebe household, before their son Hugh was born. We have surmised that this may have been a child from either previous marriage. There is no child under 5 in the 1830 census for John Richards jr.'s household. Therefore, we have surmised that John B. Richards may have been either Phebe's child by a previoius encounter or he possibly could have been a visiting relative from the Uncles of Utica,Remsen. He had TB as did Phebe. They both died within months of each other with this disease. Phebe may have been in my 1830 census recording as one of the 20-30 year old females, however, it is difficult to assume this with so many siblings of John Jr. living with their still alive mother, Sarah. John B. may have an interesting middle name. ( how about Brush?) The change of address for a Phebe from Bristol may have been when she left for Johnsburg. She may have migrated to teach in that area in 1823. She would have been 21. Yet to know. I have updated Samuel and Miriam-HInkley-Robblee to include Jim Fortier's Hannah. He is yet to returned my email with his thoughts and some dates. I will enter the update on Roblee-L. It appears to me that John B. Richards b 1828 would have been their son. I would suspect that John and Phebe lived together prior to marrying. Are they recorded in the 1830 Census? Did Nathaniel have a daughter Phebe? d young? If so, she does not fit the census record. Would the Phebe, dismissed in New Haven to Bristol, in 1828, been pregnant? Which of the sons of Reuben and Phebe passed through or stayed in the New Haven area of VT after 1810? Just some questions rattling in my mind. HOpe to hear from you soon.
