    2. Alger and Walcott Family
    3. I believe that this is Phebe, daughter of Samuel Robblee/Miriam Hinckley. Mariam died 1841 in Burke, Franklin, NY. Samuel died 1864 in the same place. Both are buried in the Barnum-Wright Cemetery in that town. So, I just tried to find Samuel in the 1850 census. I cannot find him with soundex search, so decided to search for men with first name Samuel living in Burke. This is interesting -- I find the following family: Phebe Crippen, age 37, b. NY Samuel Roblie (?), age 73, b. NH Mary Crippen, age 16, b. NY Phebe Crippen, age 9, b. NY I had an estimated dom for Phebe as 1851. Leaving the NH pob aside for Samuel, this looks like it could be our Samuel living with daughter Phebe who was then a widow of Mr. Crippen. I don't find Samuel in 1840, nor a family named Crippen in Burke. I find this note: Sources (n.b., the Town[ship] of Burke was formed from the Town[ship] of Chateaugay in 1844). In 1840: David Crippen Chateaugay, Franklin, New York Ransom Crippen Chateaugay, Franklin, New York Then I find in the Ft. Covington (Burke, NY) Cemetery: Crippen Ransom B. 1818 1884 Crippen Miriam (Stiles) 1822 1884 wife of Ransom B. Crippen (and dau of Ezra Stiles?) Phebe's sister Harriet m. Ezra Stiles. They had a daughter Miriam, named after their mother Miriam? Okay, that's all I can find for now. Assuming that Phebe m. 1st Mr. Crippen, I can't identify Mr. Crippen at the moment. I found yesterday the 1860 Federal Census for Burke, Franklin County, NY. Simeon Montague; age 57 farmer from MA. Phebe A. Montague: age 47 Simon Montague: age 7 Cora Montague: age 6 Samuel Robe: age 85 born MA This Phebe, the apparent daughter of this Samuel, alive in 1860 is not the Phebe Robblee-Richards that I am looking for borrn 1802. Jim Fortier: you can remove the marriage of this Phebe to John Richards Jr. from your data base. My Phebe died in 1847. Did you ever find out about the other Phebe in Granville? One died young? Cindy said some time ago that we should look closer at Phillip and Eunice's children. Maybe they are the ones. Thanks for the information. Hello, All, I must add something to this discussion. I have: Phebe Ann Robblee, 8 May 1813- 23 Jul 1900, d Flint, MI. bur Avondale Cem. Flint. married 21 Jul 1852 at Burke, Franklin, NY. Simeon Montague, 9 Oct 1803- aft 1886, his second wife. Their son, Simeon Calvin Montague, 11 Sept 1853 - 20 May 1865, buried in Burke, buried beside Samuel and Marion Robblee. Their dau. Cora Minerva, 4 Nov 1854, b at Burke. I have come across one record that mentions Phebe Ann was first married to Alvin Crippen? Her brother, Nathan, was also at Flint. Mary "Polly" Robblee, 14 Jul 1811 - 26 Aug 1879 at Victory, NY married 25 Jul 1838 at Ft. Ann, Wa. Co. NY. Benjamin Jakway, 11 Sep 1807 - 11 Aug 1879 at Victory, NY. Source, Genealogy.com. The 1820 Cenus records Nathaniel and John Roblyer at Ulysses, Thomkins, NY. I have not found any Nathaniels in the Roblyer lineage. Do we know the exact dates of the various censuses? People might have been missed around these times. I think the above Phebe and Polly were the daughters of Phillip and Eunice Robblee. The 1820 Census record for Nathanael Robblee is interesting. Would the second male over 45 possibly be his brother, Luther? And were the 2 males under 10, Julius Scott and William Orson? Did not their father, William? pass on in 1820? Was the oldest girl, Phebe? All interesting tidbits of stray info. If anyone has anything further, please let me know and HOpe to hear from you soon.
