Dear All, I would like to welcome William E. Roblee to the group. And I see that his ancestral line leads back to Granville. With no known tie to any of the families that we have documented there. And this is not the first example of this nature. I believe that we will have to expand our search in this area. Probate, land records, census, and church records come to my mind of course. Are this available for this area at an archives somewhere? Have they possibly been destroyed? Has the Mormon Church done any filming at any establishments there? Interestingly enough is the fact we have established a lineage back to Ruben and Phoebe but have as yet to find many facts on the other family, that of Thomas Robblee, married Lydia. It seems that Ruben's family went to Church, bought land and built homes. All of which we can track when we find the paper trails. Very little exists for Thomas and his family and now we have another man, Julius Scott Roblee, born in Granville in 1818 with no ties. It seems that Thomas' family moved on during the period 1800-1825. One other fact I noted at Ancestry.com the other day is the NY Census for 1830 lists 2 Calvin Roblees. One is at North Creek and the other is in the Granville area. I would suggest that one of these is the son of that Thomas. I'm sure it is a matter of time until we find more information needed to sort these families out. HOpe to hear from you soon. Bob
